Thanks to Carter and Jane for having the patience to wait an extra week for the sewer repairs. Here are some pictures of a full excavation we did in Denver. The city sewer is so shallow that the original sewer pipe was laid with about 70 feet of pipe at no downward pitch. We did everything possible to get some pitch, @ 1/16", not perfect but better than before. The new sewer pipe has a much lower drag rating, and with the roots and separations now gone, should make it a better flow. With a pipe this flat some future cleaning may still be needed to wash out greasy buildup. That's where the outside cleanouts come in handy. Now we can use the power jetter to flush out the grease from inside the house as well as out. |
